Margy Lutz -- I live in a float cabin on Powell Lake in British Columbia, but it hasn't always been so.
I was born and raised in Compton, California. Compton is a suburb that's been swallowed up by sprawling Los Angeles, but when I was a kid it had a small town feel. I grew up riding horses in the Los Angeles riverbed. When Wayne and I moved to Powell River, BC, I traded four hooves for four wheels. Our good friend John helped me learn to ride, and showed us how to reach many of the backcountry destinations available for exploration by ATV.
Wayne Lutz -- Originally from Upstate New York, I moved to California to attend the University of Southern California. Margy and I met and discovered we had many things in common. In 2001, while on a flying camping vacation in our Piper Arrow 997, we discovered Powell River, BC. We knew immediately it was where we wanted to live. One of the reasons was all the amazing backcountry there is to explore right at our doorstep.
This year we purchased a barge to carry our quads around Powell and Goat Lakes so we can explore the many roads built by logging companies. It's been an amazing summer of new adventures and exciting experiences.
You can read more about our lifestyle and float cabin living at the Powell River Books Blog. Wayne has also written a series of books called Coastal BC Stories about our lifestyle and adventures.
